Jemma Sellers’ Career Story

When I look at how I’ve progressed within this business, I now have a career path and I can see a future with Intelling. I can’t wait for my journey to continue. My confidence in the last 18 months has helped me become a better person and achieve goals I didn’t think were possible.

What does your day-to-day role involve now?

I am now an account executive, part of the client service team.

My day-to-day role consists of communication with the client, running reports and analysing data to help support performance, consistent liaising with operations to support them and to ensure client requirements are achieved, different clients have different target goals. In the client service team though each day is different, its fast paced and you can be met with completely different challenges all the time.

How did your expectations of a contact centre differ to your reality when you first joined?

After working for other call centres before I knew what “call centres” were like, however Intelling is completely different to all the others I have worked for in the past.

Yes, it is a call centre but for me it is a call centre who are all about the people, they recognise hard work and are always looking to recruit internally if you have the drive and have the “I can” attitude. When I look at how I have progressed within this business, I now have a career path and I can see a future with Intelling.

How did you move up from being an Agent?

When I first started, I was an agent on the NHS 111 campaign.

I then quickly moved onto managing this campaign along with another colleague who had started at the same time as myself, between the two of us we managed over 100 people. Once Intelling started working with PHE (Public Health England) I moved onto become training manager, also supporting Senior Team Leaders when required.

Who has been there to guide you through your career?

Firstly, I have Stephen Philbin.

Whilst in operations, Ste was consistently supportive and he ensured that once an opportunity for me to progress within my career came up, he pushed me to go for it.

Min Bonugli – whilst working on the client services team, Min has been my constant mentor, she is someone I truly look up to, her hard work demonstrates where you can get to if you want it enough, she shows me that no matter what challenges I face each day whether good or bad, there is always a solution to them. I am so grateful to have her as the director of the department that I work in.

Are there any future roles at Intelling you’re aiming for?

My next goal is that I want to achieve is to become an Account Manager.

I want to take it step by step as there is still so much for me to learn within this department and I can’t wait for my journey at Intelling to continue.

What are you most proud of achieving since being with Intelling?

The thing I am most proud of whilst working at Intelling is how quickly my career has progressed, but this wouldn’t have happened without me believing in myself (as well as others believing in me too.)

My confidence in the last 18 months has helped me to become a better person and has helped me to achieve goals I didn’t think were possible.
